BOAA – Biennale of Australian Art – 21 Sep 2018 TO 06 Nov 2018

BOAA ART 2018 will tell Australian stories; stories of our past, present and future, reflecting what it means to be Australian today. BOAA ART 2018 will have a strong Aboriginal focus, as well as celebrating our multiculturalism.



Victorian Teachers Games 23rd Sep – 26th Sep

The Victorian Teachers’ Games (VTG) is a unique annual event in Victoria that is open specifically for Education professionals. VTG returns to the City of Ballarat from September 23 to 26, 2018 where participants have the opportunity to compete in over 40 sporting and social activities.



Timeline Festival – 20th Oct – 21st Oct

The Timeline Festival is an annual re-enactment event that is held at Kryal Castle. The Festival attracts over 350 historical reenactors and merchants covering time periods from Ancient Rome through to World War Two.

The event is run over three days and incorporates a public event, which is held on the Saturday and Sunday, and includes a whole range of re-enactment activities to showcase the skills and crafts of the re-enactment community.


Springfest Ballarat – 25th of November

Bring your family and friends to SpringFest Market Sunday. Admire the natural surrounds of Ballarat’s Lake and gardens precinct in the springtime as you explore six unbelievable kilometres of market stalls, events, activities and fun for all the family, set up against the serene backdrop of Lake Wendouree.

There are almost 500 market stalls to browse, offering a wide range of food, art and craft, music, clothing, jewellery, plants and flowers, performers, car displays and activities to suit all interests.


Australian Jazz Convention – Ballarat 26th – 31st December

Ballarat will come alive with the sounds and colours of Jazz between Christmas and New Year, when as many as 1,000 musicians and delegates will attend the 73rd Annual Convention and play and enjoy music in programmed performances in eight venues in Ballarat’s CBD.




2019 FedUni Road National Championships 4th – 8th January 2019

The 2019 Fed Uni Road National Championships is your chance to watch the best Aussie riders battle it out for the ultimate glory of the green and gold jersey.

Held over five days, this ultimate festival of cycling features a criterium, time trial, and a road race.

If you are keen to get involved, 2019 will see the return of the Gran Fondo National Champs.

With heaps of national titles up for grabs and an unforgettable five days of racing, organise the family and make the most of it.
